Ronya Hoblit

Ronya Hoblit is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. She resides in Mandan, North Dakota, and is in her tenth year of working at Sitting Bull College, in Fort Yates, North Dakota, where she serves as a Career Counselor and the Disabilities Coordinator, teaches freshman seminar and job-seeking skills courses, and is a contributing member of the Financial Education Awareness Team. The title of her thesis in the Master of Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Montana-Missoula, was Use of Mentoring and Service Learning to Support Traditional Native American Teaching: A Proactive Model.

A published writer in the Tribal College Journal and the Laramie County Community College magazines, Ms. Hoblit continues to write creatively with hope that someday she will be able to devote her attention full-time to the fine art of poetry.
